Tie & Pocket Square Sets

If your tie is a solid (single) colour, you can combine it with a pocket square in the same colour. Patterned ties should be matched with a pocket square in one of the secondary colours of the tie’s palette.

Although most men aim to at least have one navy and one black tie, no wardrobe is complete without ties in a range of colours as, by definition, these accessories are meant to be used to create different looks for different occasions.

A tie and pocket square set is perfect for events where the dress code is formal or business. However, if the dress code is black or white tie, you’re expected to wear a tuxedo with a bow tie.

Your tie’s knot should cover the space between the points of your collar without spreading them apart. It’s worth considering the shape of your face before deciding on the collar and, therefore, tie knot. If your face is too round, you may want to avoid collars that require large knots, e.g. Windsor.
