What should I wear to the races?
Although racecourses are gradually dropping their dress code, you’re still required to dress smartly so a suit and tie are the safest choice. The exception is certain enclosures on specific race days, where the dress code is extremely strict and you can be denied entry if you deviate. A classic example is the Royal Enclosure at Ascot where a morning coat is mandatory.
What shoes should I wear with my race suit?
This depends on the style of the suit. For morning and cravat suits, you should wear dress shoes, which are Oxfords or loafers in patent or highly polished leather. For lounge suits, choose a pair of calf leather shoes.
What shirt should I wear with my race day suit?
A double cuff shirt that matches the formality of your suit is perfect. You can choose between kent and wing collar depending on whether your suit comes with a tie or cravat.
