It depends on the event’s dress code. If it’s a black tie affair, then you are expected to wear a tuxedo. If the dress code is “lounge suit”, opt for a 3 piece suit with shirt and tie. If the dress code isn’t specified, you can either ask or select something appropriate for the venue (and your personality, of course).
If the invitation dictates a specific dress code, guests are expected to oblige. If there is no dress code, feel free to wear something that expresses your personality but don’t forget that photos of the event will probably grace your parents’ house and your friends’ Instagram feed for years to come. One piece of advice from us: if you are to wear a suit, take this opportunity to purchase a quality outfit than can subsequently be used in dates, job interviews etc. Besides, fast fashion and cheap clothes that will only last the night don’t do our planet any good.
You can either go for a timeless option, like navy or grey, or take full advantage of the fact that being young gives you more freedom to make bold fashion statements. Our prom collection includes suits in a variety of colours, checks and patterns and you can use accessories to create the ultimate signature look.
We all know that wedding guests should not upstage the couple and a similar rule applies to graduations: this is your offspring’s time to shine. Unless the invitation calls for a black tie outfit, you should wear a lounge suit and keep your accessories subtle so as not to draw attention away from the protagonists. It may be wise, to ask your favourite graduate for colour guidance so you all look suitably coordinated on Instagram.
Look dapper down to the last detail. Our in-house tailors can make any alterations that you may need for a bespoke fit within 10 working days.
