How do I accessorise a formal suit?
All our formal suits come with a waistcoat and either a complimentary bow tie or cravat. However, a cummerbund and bow tie set is an excellent way to create a second look, without the waistcoat, that matches the event’s theme.
What’s the purpose of a cummerbund?
Cummerbunds are used to hide the bunching around the waist where your shirt is tucked in. However, apart from their practical use, they also serve an aesthetic purpose as they’re a beautiful accessory for men’s formalwear.
What colour cummerbund should I wear?
Traditionally, the black tie dress code stipulated a black cummerbund and bow tie with a white pocket square. However, formalwear etiquette is more relaxed these days and cummerbunds come in a range of colours that you can match to e.g. the event’s theme.
Do I need a pocket square with a cummerbund?
In formalwear etiquette, if you do wear a cummerbund and bow tie, you should combine them with a pocket square. However, rules are much more relaxed these days and you’re welcome to create your distinctive style!
