Black Leather Belts | Patent Leather Belts

What colour leather belt should I buy for my suit?

Men’s leather belts should match the colour of your shoes. There are instances where people might choose a different colour but unless you feel super comfortable with sartorial colour combinations, we’d advise you to stick to this basic rule.

Do I need a belt to secure my trousers?

Absolutely not. Your suit trousers should be fitted so they stay in place and belts or braces should merely be viewed as an accessory.

What material should my formal belt be made of?

Formal suits, e.g. tuxedos, should always be worn with patent or highly polished leather shoes. Therefore, your belt should be made from the same material, and preferably patent leather.

Can I wear both a belt and braces?

No, you should pick one of the two. If you want to create different versions of your outfit for formal occasions though, you can buy an additional cummerbund and bow tie set and replace the belt with these for a second look.
